Hawaii is a lovely tropical destination for a quick holiday vacation if one can endure the inflated prices.

How in the world local Hawaii residents survive is amazing to at the least! Between over priced gas, food, and corporate owned hotels skimming off the top of the local tourism industry to the undercurrent of hostility, turmoil, and social tension displayed by some of the more militant locals who believe (perhaps rightly so) their country was invaded by America.

"I wouldn't ever go back even on a holiday given the choices at hand to experience much more peaceful tropical getaways such as south Thailand where the locals are extremely friendly and everything is quite inexpensive, so everyone can enjoy the splended ammenities it has to offer. Hawaii is nevertheless a beautiful tropical paradise for those primarily interested in a quick fun sun holiday retreat despite the bad attitude of some of the locals and the super high prices of everything" .
